'Honk If You Think I'm Sexy'

That's what a Fairfield teen wanted you to do if you drove by him and his sign on Thursday, police said.

 

Police responded to a report that a male teen, dressed in his underwear, was standing at the intersection of Mill River Road and Brookside Drive, holding a sign that said “Honk if you think I’m sexy; Don’t if you think I’m an [expletive deleted],” department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

Another teen was nearby with a video camera, according to the report.

The responding officer did not find the boy in his underwear when he arrived, but a little ways down the road, fully clothed, and sitting atop the sign, Lussier said. He admitted to holding the sign in just his underwear.

Fairfield police found more than an unconscious driver when they investigated a lone car parked on the side of the road on Westport Turnpike, its driver slumped over the steering wheel on Thursday.

The man, Thomas Fino, 24, of Monroe, told police he was on his way to work and was so tired he had to pull over to get in a quick nap, department, Lussier said. The responding officer reported that Fino seemed nervous, as if he was hiding something.

He was.

Police found two suboxone pills in his glove compartment, and K-9 Ruger found three and a half more in a computer bag in the back of Fino’s car.

Fino was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of prescription medication outside of its proper container, Lussier said. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on Dec. 19.

A Bridgeport woman, originally stopped for not wearing her seatbelt, faced a slew of charges Thursday after police discovered the vehicle she was driving was stolen, Lussier said.

Police arrested Jennifer Spezzano, 32, outside of the Fairfield Shell gas station on the Post Road. She was charged with third-degree larceny, interfering with a police officer, criminal impersonation, two counts of possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Spezzano gave police a false name and handed over a license and credit card that were not her own, Lussier said. Upon searching her person, police found two separate bags of cocaine, and then three glass stems with residue and a syringe in the car, according to the report.

Spezzano gave police her real name and they discovered she had six active warrants for her arrest for failures to appear in court, Lussier said.

Regarding the car, Spezzano told police a male friend let her borrow it. When they ran the car’s license plate, it was revealed the 1999 Toyota Camry was reported stolen from Bridgeport on Dec. 4 from outside of the home of its owner, and elderly woman, Lussier said.

Spezzano was also issued misdemeanor summons for driving with a suspended license and failure to wear a seatbelt, Lussier said. She was held on a $35,000 bond and issued a Dec. 20 court date.

A Christmas Tree Lane resident reported three UPS packages were taken from her front porch Wednesday night, police said.

The woman said she didn’t get the packages immediately from her doorstep. Their total value was $300, Lussier said.

A fight broke out between two students at Notre Dame High School on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of one juvenile, police said.

The fight was between a junior and a freshman, both male. The junior reportedly accused the freshman of stealing from the football team’s locker room in October and then allegedly bumped into the freshman, police said. They wrestled each other to the floor, according to the report.

A female student attempting to pass by the squabble was hurt when one of the students pulled her hair and she fell to the ground, striking her head, according to Lussier.

The junior, whose hometown is Bridgeport, was charged with disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on Jan. 5.
