Police said Targouski went onto the Ardmore Street property about 2:08 a.m. April 2 without permission from the property owner and that a witness reported that Targouski twice tried to start a truck on the property but then fled when he heard sirens on a patrol car. A lock on the truck had been punched in, causing about $300 damage, police said.

About 45 yards of processed gravel, valued at $450, was reported stolen from a construction site at 1770 Kings Highway East sometime between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.a. Friday.

Police said it appears a back hoe on the construction site was used in the theft and that a key to the back hoe was available. The construction site is where three retail buildings are planned - one for Whole Foods, one for CVS and a third for multiple tenants.

A 16-year-old Fairfield resident, accused of throwing a bag of chips at his mother and threatening to throw a rock at her was charged with breach of peace Friday afternoon after an officer saw him walking by Jennings Road. He was turned over to the custody of his mother, pending an appearance today in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport, police said.

Police said the teen, whose name was not released because he is considered to be a juvenile under state law, was hostile and argumentative with the patrol officer, cursing at him several times and refusing the officer's command that he stop walking so the officer could talk to him.

The dispute with the teen's mother happened in the area of Knollwood Drive and Osborn Hill Road about 4:25 p.m. Friday, police said.

A flashlight valued at $20 was reported stolen from a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette parked outside Fairfield Cafe on Commerce Drive in Fairfield sometime between 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday.

Police said a suction cup typically used to hold a GPS system was visible on the car's windshield before the car was broken into, but the GPS was not inside the car at the time of the break-in. Entry to the car was gained by smashing a passenger-side window, police said.

A 48-year-old Fairfield motorist, spotted by a patrol officer who was heading to a sobriety checkpoint early Saturday, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after he was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt.

Jose Soto, of School Street, posted $250 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on April 20.

Police said Soto failed field sobriety tests and had been pulled over on Stevens Lane, just before the westbound entrance to Interstate 95, about 12:45 a.m. Soto had an open beer in the car, police said.

Four tires on a 2001 Chrysler Sebring were reported slashed sometime late Friday or early Saturday while it was parked on Massachusetts Avenue in Fairfield.

Police said the cost to replace the tires was estimated at $600 and that the incident was reported to police at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

Two dirt bikes, valued at a total of $2,500, were reported stolen from a garage on Pine Tree Lane in Fairfield sometime between noon Thursday and 10 a.m. Saturday. The 2004 Yamaha TTR90 was valued at $1,000, while the 2005 Yamaha TTR125 was valued at $1,500, police said.

The garage's door had been left unlocked, police said.
