BB Pellet Flies in Window of Motorist on Black Rock Turnpike; Carpenter Arrested on Disorderly Conduct Charge; DUI Arrest After Minor Accident

A motorist driving on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield on Wednesday evening received an unwelcome surprise when a BB pellet flew through her open driver's-side window.

Police said the woman immediately rolled up her window and several more BB pellets struck the driver's side of her car about 6:27 p.m. by the intersection of Kings Highway East. She called 911 and continued driving to a parking lot at Syms by the corner of Black Rock Turnpike and Commerce Drive, where she waited for officers to arrive, police said. Officers searched the area but couldn't find the person responsible, police said.

A 40-year-old Guilford man who responded to a Fairfield woman's request for estimates on carpentry work on her Duck Farm Road house was arrested Wednesday on a disorderly conduct charge after he became tumultuous and yelled profanities at her, police said.

Corey Michael Lippolis, of Oriole Circle, was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court May 3, police said.

Police said Lippolis arrived early for the appointment Wednesday morning and appeared to be agitated. Lippolis became more agitated as the woman questioned the cost of the planned carpentry projects, and, after the woman asked him to leave, he turned around and yelled profanities at her, police said.

Officers called Lippolis' employer and had Lippolis come back to the woman's house where he was arrested, police said.

A 22-year-old Milford motorist was charged with driving under the influence and following too close Wednesday evening after he struck the back of a car stopped at a traffic light on Kings Highway East by Longfellow Avenue in Fairfield and pushed that car into a car ahead of it, police said.

Jake Sabas, of Shorefront, was held in lieu of $100 bond and was scheduled to appear May 4 in Bridgeport Superior Court, p0lice said.

Sabas failed field sobriety tests, and no one was injured in the 8:54 p.m. accident, police said.
