Warrant Arrest Related to Nov. 2010 Traffic Stop

A Marshfield, MA man was arrested Monday on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a Nov. 2010 incident.

According to police, William Grant, 22, was initially arrested after a traffic stop on Nov. 11, on the Post Road near Bob’s Store. There was no further information on a new court date or bond.

Drug and Motor Vehicle Charges

A Fairfield man was arrested on drug and motor vehicle charges Monday after a routine traffic stop.

According to police, at around 9 p.m., officers spotted a vehicle with no front license plate and pulled it over. As police approached the car, they could smell marijuana. A search of the car turned up the drug and a glass pipe. The driver of the car, James Cenatiempo, 22, of Rhode Island Avenue, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating without insurance.

Cenatiempo was released on a promise to appear in court April 11.

Warrant Arrest on Shoplifting Charges

A West Haven man was arrested Monday after an investigation determined he was involved in a shoplifting incident at BJ’s, 40 Black Rock Turnpike, back in April 2010.

According to police, on April 16, Harry Banks III, 34, of Newburn Street, placed a sweater and 68 boxes of Gillette razors, with a total value of $1,900, into a cart and tried to leave through a back door of the store without paying. Customers notified employees, and when they approached him, Banks fled. Police later determined he was one of several subjects involved in thefts at other BJ’s stores. Banks was charged with fourth-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny, fourth-degree larceny and fourth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

There was no information about a court date or bond.

Arrest on Probation Violation and Warrant

A Bridgeport man was arrested Tuesday for violating probation and on an active warrant.

According to police, Jacques Jean, 25, of Ellsworth Street, was found in a car parked at the intersection of Old Field Road and Catherine Street, around 4 a.m. The car had been seen in other areas of town during the night. A records check led to police charging Jean with violation of probation and failure to pay or plead on a prior ticket.

A $100 bond and court date of April 19 was set.

Drug Charges Levied After Traffic Stop

A Fairfield man was arrested Tuesday after being pulled over on a traffic violation.

According to police, at around 2 a.m., officers saw a vehicle drive over the double yellow line on Stratfield Road and pulled the car over. As they approached the vehicle, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The driver, Ian Leslie, 19, of Winnepoge Drive, was found with marijuana and Aderall pills on his person. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Leslie was released on a promise to appear in court. No court date was available.

Backhoe Window Smashed

The window of a backhoe that was parked at the rear of Stratfield School on Melville Avenue was smashed sometime over the weekend, police said. The window was valued at $400.
