Police Blotter for Aug. 9: Bicycle Worth $7,000 Swiped in Southport

Expensive Bicycle Stolen in Southport; Arrests in Domestic Disputes; Shoplifting Arrests; Drug Arrests; Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles

The Fairfield Police Department's press briefing on Monday included the following cases:

A Museeuw bicycle, valued at $7,000, was reported stolen from an open porch on Westway Road in Fairfield's Southport neighborhood sometime between 2:01 p.m. and 2:31 p.m. Friday, police said.

The men's bike was described by police as carbon-fiber and black, red and silver.

The bike's owner told officers he went to Pequot Library for a half-hour, and, when he returned, the bike was stolen.

A Fairfield couple was arrested on disorderly conduct charges Friday afternoon after they fought in their home on Brentwood Avenue in Fairfield.

Jacqueline Marks, 21, and Georgio Marks, 20, were each released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Monday. Police said the fight, which included spitting, stemmed from each believing the other was having an affair. Jacqueline scratched Georgio's arm, and Georgio grabbed her face and pushed her away in the 4:59 p.m. dispute, police said.

A 32-year-old Fairfield woman was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct Friday afternoon after she allegedly attacked her husband in their home on South Pine Creek Road in Fairfield, injurying his right middle finger, nose and forehead.

Anissa Assous was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Monday, police said.

Police said Assous didn't want her husband to speak to his 22-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. The husband refused medical attention, police said.

A 23-year-old Bridgeport woman was arrested Saturday afternoon on charges of violation of a protective order, first-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and two counts of third-degree assault after she allegedly entered her son's father's house on Davis Road in Fairfield without permission and scratched the father and scratched and bit an unidentified person in the house.

Jia Khan, of Main Street in Bridgeport, was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court, police said.

Police said Khan went to her son's father's house about 1:02 p.m. because she needed money for their son.

A 32-year-old Bridgeport man accused of stealing $165 worth of goods from CVS in Fairfield Saturday morning was arrested on charges of sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

Jason Fazekas, of North Bishop Avenue, was held in lieu of $1,000 bond and went to Bridgeport Superior Court Monday, police said.

Police said an off-duty police officer witnessed the shoplifting at CVS and that Fazekas fought with the officer when the officer caught up to him in the parking lot of McDonald's by the Post Road traffic circle.

Four men were arrested on a drug charge after police investigated a suspicious car parked in a commuter parking lot on Round Hill Road in Fairfield about 3:34 a.m. Saturday.

Yanik Poulin, 35, of Plainfield, N.H., John Reilly, 46, of Second Street in Fairfield, Alfred Mally, 46, of Hedgehog Circle in Trumbull and Fredrick Flax, 45, of Park Avenue in Bridgeport, were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said the car contained a crack pipe and syringes and that Flax was also charged with interfering with an officer because he gave a false name - Fredrick Flash - to officers, police said.

Mally had an active warrant for evading responsibility from Bridgeport Police, police said.

Poulin, Reilly and Mally were each released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Aug. 16; Mally was then turned over to Bridgeport Police. Flax was held in lieu of $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Aug. 16 in court, police said.

A Fairfield man and woman were each arrested Sunday afternoon after they allegedly stole $157 worth of cigarettes from CVS to sell them in Bridgeport so they could buy heroin, police said.

David Skog, 28, of Longdean Road, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, criminal liability for the acts of another and having a suspended license, while Sara Cohn, 26, also of Longdean Road, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Each was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Aug. 17, police said.

Police said Cohn went into CVS and stole cartons of cigarettes while Skog waited in the car and drove her away from the scene. Police said employees recognized Cohn because she had passed bad checks at the store in the past.

Binoculars valued at $50 and loose change were reported stolen from three unlocked cars parked on Riverside Drive in Fairfield sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. Friday, police said.

Police said the binoculars were stolen from one car and loose change was stolen from the other two cars.
