Jewelry reported stolen from Millard Street apartment

Jewelry was reported stolen in a burglary on Millard Street in Fairfield that took place sometime between July 1 and July 6. The burglary was reported to police on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the apartment's resident reported that an 18-karat gold bracelet of unknown value; another gold bracelet of unknown value; a gold tennis bracelet with diamonds, valued at $2,000; a gold charm bracelet of unknown value; an 18-karat gold necklace valued at $800; and a bracelet valued at $200 were stolen from a plastic container she kept under her bed.

Police said the resident reported that she found the lock on her door difficult to unlock on July 6, but there was no visible damage to the door or the lock.

Backpack leaf blower stolen from shed

A backpack leaf blower valued at $650 was reported stolen from a locked storage unit at a condominium complex on Kings Highway East in Fairfield. The burglary was reported at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday and the storage unit, in the basement of the building, had been forced open, police said.

Feces spread in office building on Meadow Street

Police said an office on Meadow Street in Fairfield was vandalized with human feces sometime between 6:15 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.

An unidentified person entered the unlocked office, defecated on the floor and spread the feces on walls, police said.

The office received a phone call about noon Tuesday from someone described as a juvenile who asked if they liked the excrement on the walls, police said.

Vandalism with fire extinguishers

Fire extinguishers were used to vandalize two condominium buildings on Southport Woods Drive in Fairfield's Southport neighborhood, police said.

In one building, a fire extinguisher was sprayed throughout a hallway and it was found in the middle of a hallway on the second floor, police said. A hallway in another building was sprayed with a fire extinguisher that was found outside one of the buildings, police said.
