DUI arrest after motorist hits parked car in driveway

A 20-year-old Fairfield motorist was charged with driving under the influence early Monday after she crashed into a parked and unoccupied car in a driveway on Mill Plain Road in Fairfield, police said.

Nicole Valentine, of Partridge Lane, was released on $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court July 5, police said.

The Mill Plain Road homeowner heard a crash about 12:02 a.m., went outside and found a motorist had crashed into her car, police said. Valentine failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Burglary reported on Burr Street

An undetermined amount of jewelry was reported stolen from a house on Burr Street in Fairfield sometime between noon Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday. Police said the homeowner, after returning home, found a window had been opened and a side door was unlocked. Entry was forced, police said.

Rifle scope stolen from porch on Round Hill Road

A rifle scope valued at $5,100 was reported stolen from a porch on Round Hill Road in Fairfield sometime within the past week. The theft was reported to police at 12:58 p.m. Friday.

Police said the scope was in a package that had been delivered to the home and left on the front porch.

Projector and lens stolen from motor vehicle outside Fairfield Cinemas

A multi-media projector valued at $10,500 and a lens valued at $4,250 were reported stolen from a car parked in the rear lot of Fairfield Cinemas on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 9:26 p.m. Friday. The driver's-side, rear passenger window was smashed to gain entry, police said.

Burglary, larceny arrests at Fairfield U. festival

Two Fairfield men were arrested on burglary and larceny charges early Saturday after they allegedly broke into a trailer that contained alcohol for the Irish Festival on Fairfield University's campus.

Ryan C. Narwold, 20, of Ross Hill Road, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

John T. Donovan, 19, of Running Brook Road, was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Each was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 27, police said.

Police said Narwold and Donovan were caught by Fairfield U. security after they broke into the trailer and stole four 12-ounce bottles of Smirnoff Ice. Three were recovered in grass, police said.

Resident charged in party at house

A 45-year-old Fairfield man was charged with risk of injury to a minor early Sunday after police responded to a report of a loud party on Samp Mortar Drive in Fairfield.

Darren Schewchuk, of Samp Mortar Drive, was arrested because he knew a party involving alcohol and underage drinkers was taking place, police said. He was released on $250 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 29.

A minor at the party was given an infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor on private property following the 1:18 a.m. incident, police said. The minor's name was not released by police.

Domestic dispute ends with arrest at hospital

A 49-year-old Fairfield man was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after a fight with his wife late Saturday in their Knapps Highway home, police said.

Police said officers received a report from St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport that a woman was injured and that the woman had said she had been in a fight with her husband. The fight took place about 10:45 p.m., and police received the call from the hospital early Sunday, police said.

The victim had been slapped and had injured ribs, police said.

Gary Gouldin was arrested at the hospital and was released on $100 bond, pending an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday, police said.

Graffiti damage at Holland Hill School

Graffit was spraypainted onto portable classrooms and welcome signs at a playground at Holland Hill School on Meadowcroft Road in Fairfield sometime between 3 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to $2,000, police said.

Graffit damage at Fairfield Metro Center construction trailer

Graffiti was spraypainted onto a construction trailer at the Fairfield Metro Center development on lower Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield sometime over the weekend. The vandalism was reported to police at 7:24 a.m. Monday. A damage estimate wasn't available.
