Burglary to garage on Eastlawn Street

A 25-year-old men's 10-speed racing bike valued at $200, two fishing poles valued at a combined $100, and a tackle box valued at $50 were reported stolen from an unlocked garage on Eastlawn Street in Fairfield sometime over the past several months. The burglary was reported to police at 4:35 p.m. Saturday.

Man charged with leaving 4-year-old daughter unattended in bed of pickup truck

A 30-year-old Bridgeport man accused of leaving his 4-year-old daughter unattended in the bed of his pickup truck outside Super Stop & Shop on Villa Avenue in Fairfield Sunday morning was arrested.

Adelso Catalan Hernandez, of Pequonnock Street, was charged with leaving a child under 12 years old unattended. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 17 and the child was picked up by a family member, police said.

Officers, responding to a complaint, found the 4-year-old girl in the open bed of a pickup truck and waited five minutes until Hernandez arrived, police said. Police said Hernandez was at the bottle return area of the supermarket for 15 minutes.

Drug arrest at Tom Hayden Field

A 20-year-old Fairfield man was arrested on drug charges early Sunday after police said officers found a car parked in the lot of Tom Hayden Field on Old Dam Road in Fairfield with all of its windows "fogged up."

Keith Bobowick, of Stratfield Road, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 13, police said.

Police said it became "apparent" to the officers that drugs were being used when a window was rolled down. Bobowick turned over to officers a small plastic baggie containing marijuana and officers also recovered a glass pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana in the 1:25 a.m. incident.

Drug arrests at town park after-hours

A Bridgeport man and New Hampshire man were arrested on drug charges early Sunday after police investigated a car parked by Perry's Mill Pond, a town-owned open space.

Michael Marshal, 24, of Denver Avenue in Bridgeport, and Scott Gilmore, 25, of Keene, were each arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Each also was cited for violating a town ordinance that prohibits people from being in a town-owned open space after-hours.

Marshal and Gilmore were each released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 13.

Police said officers recovered marijuana, a grinder, rolling papers and a metal smoking pipe and that a Chevy Blazer was parked near the open space about 3 a.m. in clear view of a sign that stated when the Sturges Road property was open to the public.

Remote control car stolen from HobbyTown USA

A remote-control car valued at $310 was reported stolen from HobbyTown USA on the Post Road in Fairfield Friday evening.

Police said two men and a woman were suspected of stealing the toy about 7:50 p.m.

Goods valued at $7,666 reported stolen from The Home Depot

Four lawn aerators and four light-duty tillers, with a total value of $7,666, were reported stolen from an enclosed and locked outdoor display at The Home Depot  on Kings Highway Cutoff in Fairfield sometime between 3:53 a.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday. Entry was forced, police said.

Theft from motor vehicle on Melville Drive

A GPS unit valued at $200 and $30 cash were reported stolen from an unlocked motor vehicle parked on Melville Drive in Fairfield about 2:10 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the victim saw an unidentified person enter the motor vehicle and flee in a black sports utility vehicle heading northbound on Melville Drive.

The driver's-side window of the victim's motor vehicle had been rolled down, police said.

GPS stolen from car on Garden Drive

A GPS unit valued at $100 and a gym bag containing a new pair of sneakers and headphones were reported stolen from a 2004 Pontiac Vibe parked on Garden Drive in Fairfield late Saturday or early Sunday. The theft was reported to police at 7:51 a.m. Sunday and there was no sign of forced entry, police said.

Theft from SUV parked at Ludlowe High

A cell phone valued at $300 and a wallet containing credit cards and bank cards were reported stolen from an unlocked Chevrolet Traverse parked at Fairfield Ludlowe High School sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
