A 25-year-old Fairfield resident accused of stealing $159 worth of energy drinks and other drinks from Super Stop & Shop on Kings Highway Cutoff in Fairfield Tuesday afternoon was arrested on a charge of sixth-degree larceny.

Police said John Minlion, of Oldfield Road, wheeled a shopping cart filled with Red Bull, iced tea and lemonade past the checkout aisles without paying for them about 4:07 p.m. He was arrested in a nearby McDonald's parking lot, police said.

Minlion was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court April 4, police said.

Three 14-year-old Fairfield residents were each arrested on a charge of sixth-degree larceny after they allegedly concealed clothing at Kohl's, a department store on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield, and tried to leave the store Tuesday afternoon.

A 14-year-old boy concealed a black tee-shirt, a 14-year-old female concealed a necktie, earrings and a headband, and another 14-year-old female concealed a bra and necktie, police said. The identities of the 14-year-olds were not released by police because they are considered to be juveniles under state law.

The 14-year-olds were detained by Kohl's security until officers arrived.

They were each released on a promise to appear April 1 in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport.
