Burglaries on Fairfield Woods Road and Sasco Hill Road; Arrest in Theft of Energy and Other Drinks From Stop & Shop; Fairfield Juveniles Arrested for Shoplifting
The Fairfield Police Department's press briefing on Wednesday included the following cases. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
Police are investigating burglaries on Fairfield Woods Road and Sasco Hill Road that took place on late Monday or Tuesday.
In the Fairfield Woods Road burglary, $200 in change was reported stolen from a downstairs closet and the homeowner is compiling an inventory of other stolen belongings, police said.

Police said the homeowner discovered the burglary at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday and that entry had been gained by smashing out a window. The burglar placed a 6-foot step ladder and tarp against the window to disguise the damage, police said.
In the Sasco Hill Road burglary, a roll of copper valued at $4,000 was reported stolen from a house under construction sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday. The burglary was reported to police at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. There was no sign of forced entry, police said.

A 25-year-old Fairfield resident accused of stealing $159 worth of energy drinks and other drinks from Super Stop & Shop on Kings Highway Cutoff in Fairfield Tuesday afternoon was arrested on a charge of sixth-degree larceny.
Police said John Minlion, of Oldfield Road, wheeled a shopping cart filled with Red Bull, iced tea and lemonade past the checkout aisles without paying for them about 4:07 p.m. He was arrested in a nearby McDonald's parking lot, police said.
Minlion was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court April 4, police said.
Three 14-year-old Fairfield residents were each arrested on a charge of sixth-degree larceny after they allegedly concealed clothing at Kohl's, a department store on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield, and tried to leave the store Tuesday afternoon.
A 14-year-old boy concealed a black tee-shirt, a 14-year-old female concealed a necktie, earrings and a headband, and another 14-year-old female concealed a bra and necktie, police said. The identities of the 14-year-olds were not released by police because they are considered to be juveniles under state law.
The 14-year-olds were detained by Kohl's security until officers arrived.
They were each released on a promise to appear April 1 in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport.
