Shoplifting Arrests at Kohl's; Jewelry Stolen From House on Westbrook Place; Teen Charged With Throwing Lacrosse Ball at Car; Packages Stolen From Rowland Road Porch; Theft of Chewing Tobacco From Store

The Fairfield Police Department's press briefing on Monday included the following cases. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Two Bridgeport women were each arrested on a charge of sixth-degree larceny Friday evening after they concealed clothing from the Juniors Department at Kohl's, a department store on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield, and left the store, police said.

Marisol Lopez, 20, of Park Avenue, and Shikara Watson, 18, of Hancock Avenue, were each released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court May 10, police said.

Police said Lopez concealed $104 worth of clothing in a handbag and Watson concealed $54 worth of clothing in a bag, and they both left the store about 6:23 p.m. A loss prevention officer at Kohl's detained the women in the parking lot until police officers arrived, police said.

A diamond pendant necklace, made of 14-karat white gold with a one-karat diamond in the center, was reported stolen from a house on Westbrook Place in Fairfield. Police said there was no sign of forced entry to the house and that the victim said the only people who have access to the house are cleaning women who were there from 10 a.m. to noon on April 21. The theft was reported to police on Saturday afternoon.

A 19-year-old Massachusetts man was charged Saturday with throwing objects at a motor vehicle after he threw a lacrosse ball at a car traveling on Barlow Road in Fairfield, police said.

Patrick Sullivan, of Scituate, was given an infraction that carries a $375 fine, police said.

Police said the motorist didn't notice any damage to her car and that she identified Sullivan as the person who threw the ball about 6:25 p.m.

A package of diapers valued at $132 and a package of facial products valued at $68 were reported stolen from the front porch of a house on Rowland Road in Fairfield sometime on April 16. The theft was reported to police at 7:17 p.m. Friday.

Two men stole several cans of chewing tobacco from Cumberland Farms on Kings Highway in Fairfield Friday night, police said.

Police said the men got into a gray or green Nissan Sentra after stealing the tobacco about 9:21 p.m. and headed south on Chambers Street.
