Wallet Stolen; Motor Vehicle Break-ins; 71-Year-old Arrested on Threatening Charge; Pet Python Leads to Disorderly Conduct Arrest; Shoplifting Arrests; $400 Lawn Ornament Stolen

The Fairfield Police Department's press briefing today included the following cases:

A wallet was reported stolen from a purse in a movie theater in Fairfield Cinemas at Bullard Square Saturday evening. Police said the purse was open on the floor in front of the victim's seat about 8:52 p.m. The wallet contained credit cards, police said.

A 36-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly broke into the trunk of a car parked on Kings Highway East in Fairfield and stole a jug of loose change.

Kareem Jeeter, of Pearl Harbor Street, was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court July 19 after he was captured on Commerce Drive in Fairfield by officers about 8:42 a.m., police said.

A GPS unit valued at $100, a laptop computer valued at $1,500 and a cell phone of unknown value were reported stolen from an unlocked 2006 Audi A4 parked at the base of a driveway on Edgewood Road in Fairfield sometime between 8:54 p.m. and 10:54 p.m. Friday, police said.

A 71-year-old Maine man upset that dinner was late was arrested Friday night after he threatened his 104-year-old mother and two of her caretakers in her home on Sasco Hill Road in Fairfield, police said.

Robert Henry Clark, of Bridgeton, was charged with two counts of threatening and one count of disorderly conduct. He was released on $180 bond and was scheduled to appear today in Bridgeport Superior Court, police said.

After he was arrested, police escorted him to his mother's house where he got his car and left, police said.

A 23-year-old Fairfield woman, upset that her roommate brought a python into their home on College Place in Fairfield, was charged with disorderly conduct Saturday night after she threw her roommate's belongings out of the house, police said.

Melissa Perkins was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court July 20, police said.

A Fairfield man and woman were each arrested on a charge of sixth-degree larceny Sunday evening after they allegedly stole groceries valued at $133 from Super Stop & Shop on Villa Avenue in Fairfield.

Ioana Ancuta, 22, of Greenlawn Drive, and Robert Boback, 24, of Edward Street, were each released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court July 19.

Police said they used a scan gun to scan some groceries but put other groceries into a bag without scanning them and left the supermarket about 6:07 p.m. They were detained by supermarket security until officers arrived, police said.

A one and-a-half foot concrete pineapple valued at $400 was reported stolen from a stone wall on Willow Street in Fairfield sometime between July 1 and July 11 at 7:32 p.m., police said.
