Police Blotter for Sept. 15: Woman Accused of Sticking Out Tongue at Child Arrested on Drug Charges

Drug Arrest on Country Road; Man Charged For Creating a Ruckus at Nursing Home; Domestic Violence Arrest; Laptop Stolen at Pequot Library; Drug Arrests at Fairfield U.

The Fairfield Police Department's press briefing on Wednesday included the following cases. Arrest information, supplied by the Fairfield Police Department, does not indicate a conviction:

A 31-year-old Fairfield woman who stuck out her tongue at her neighbor's 7-year-old daughter was arrested on drug charges after officers responded to the complaint and smelled marijuana smoke coming from her home, police said.

Jessica Rodrigues, of Country Road, stuck out her tongue at the girl as Rodrigues pulled into her driveway about 5 p.m. Tuesday, police said. The girl's mother filed a complaint with police, and officers who went to Rodrigues' home to talk to her smelled marijuana smoke coming from the house, police said. An officer asked Rodrigues who was smoking marijuana in the house and Rodrigues began to cry and said it was her, police said.

Rodrigues was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Sept. 27, police said.

A 59-year-old Westport man accused of creating a ruckus in Connecticut Health of Southport, a nursing home on Mill Hill Terrace, on Tuesday was charged with breach of peace, four counts of threatening and four counts of intimidation based on bigotry or bias.

Geoffrey Hun, of Meeker Road, was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Sept. 22, police said.

Police said Hun went to the nursing home and complained about his mother not receiving proper care. He screamed and hollered, used racial slurs and threatened to kill employees, police said.

A 19-year-old Fairfield man accused of fighting with his sister in his Eastfield Drive home Tuesday afternoon was charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said Geoffrey Wargo put his arm around her neck and choked her and slapped her in the face during an argument that started over Wargo's lack of food in the house.

Wargo was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Wednesday, police said.

A laptop computer valued at $1,500 was reported stolen from the children's section in Pequot Library in Fairfield's Southport neighborhood on Tuesday. The theft was reported to police about 3 p.m., police said.

A Massachusetts man and Trumbull man were each arrested on Fairfield University's campus Tuesday night after officers responded to a request for assistance from the university's security.

Police said university security responded to a dorm room occupied by Matthew Gilmartin, 18, of Newton, on a report of marijuana smoke. Gilmartin was charged by police with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Sept. 27, police said.

A Trumbull man who was in the dorm room, Tommaso Piazolla, 19, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after Fairfield U. security officers found a glass pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana in his car, police said. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Sept. 24, police said.
