Police Blotter for Thursday, July 15

Shoplifting Arrest at Kohl's; Motor Vehicle Break-ins on Warwick Avenue

The Fairfield Police Department's press briefing today included the following cases:

A 41-year-old Fairfield man accused of stealing luggage and tee-shirts from Kohl's, a department store on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield, Wednesday afternoon was arrested.

Javier Saez, of Greenfield Street, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and threatening. Information on his bond wasn't available, and he was scheduled to appear July 27 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Police said Saez walked out of Kohl's with a carry-all bag and a bag filled with tee-shirts, valued at $680. When Saez was stopped outside by Kohl's security, he told security to get away because he had a needle, police said. He then ran toward Greenfield Street and into a wooded area and pulled out a hypodermic needle, police said.

A State Police trooper responded with a K-9 and found Saez hiding in the woods, police said.

Coins in a cup holder were reported stolen from an unlocked 2008 Honda Ridgeline pick-up truck parked in a driveway on Warwick Avenue in Fairfield about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, and an unlocked 1993 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck parked in the same driveway was entered at about the same time, but nothing was stolen, police said. The incident was reported to police about 5:43 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Atticus, Ralph Arnone is next scheduled to appear in court on July 1st, at which point he isRead More expected to enter a plea. As an aside, one isn't supposed to go to bed and wake up still angry at the same thing, day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out... I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I care deeply about firefighters and I'm genuinely concerned about you. You were exposed to a lot of chemicals in your career. You may have some endocrine system damage or something causing an electrolyte disorder. This stuff starts out with things like joint pain and minor psychological implications but, it gets much, much worse. Get to the doc. Maybe you're just a spicy guy, maybe Ralph hurt you in some terrible way, or maybe you are sick and as a result, you'll be facing a much shortened a painful life. Honestly, I'm not trying to give you a hard time or pick a fight.
