Police Pursuit Ends in Arrest; Larceny Arrest for Longtime Pilfering at A&S on Black Rock Turnpike

A 22-year-old Fairfield motorist accused of leading police on a chase early today for more than four miles, from Black Rock Turnpike to Beverly Lane in Fairfield, was arrested on charges of engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Marc Forcellina, of Taquoshe Place, was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 10, police said.

Police said a patrol officer spotted Forcellina speeding north on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield about 12:54 a.m. and attempted to pull Forcellina over. Forcellina turned onto Stillson Road and traveled on Morehouse Highway and Congress Street before he stopped on Beverly Lane, police said.

Police said Forcellina had a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana and also was given an infraction for failure to wear a seat belt.

A 23-year-old Bridgeport woman accused of stealing from $80 to $120 a week for two years from A&S Italian Fine Foods on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield, where she worked as a cashier, was arrested this morning on a charge of first-degree larceny.

Police said A&S managers estimated that Yanelis Cruz, of St. Stephens Road, stole at least $20,000 from the store by misrepresenting what customers had paid for food and pocketing the difference. Cruz admitted to stealing the money and said she needed it to pay for gas, police said.

Cruz was arrested at police headquarters and her bond was set at $10,000. She was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court June 16, police said.
