Thefts from Motor Vehicles

Today's press briefing at the Fairfield Police Department included the following cases:

About $20 cash was reported stolen from a wallet that was underneath a seat in a 2004 Subaru parked on Burroughs Road in Fairfield sometime late Monday or early Tuesday.

Entry was gained by pulling a window off its track, police said.

The incident was reported to police about 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

A radio valued at $300, five compact discs valued at a total of $70, a vehicle amplifier valued at $100, a driver's license and $20 cash were reported stolen from a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am that was parked at the Jewish Home for the Elderly on Jefferson Street in Fairfield sometime Tuesday night.

Entry was gained by smashing a driver's side window, police said. The damage estimate on the window was $250, police said.

The incident was reported to police at 11:24 p.m., police said.
