say waterfront residents should be vigilant following two reports of a suspicious person on Fairfield Beach Road Thursday night, including one break-in.

According to Sgt. Sue Lussier, public information officer for the Fairfield Police Department, an Xbox was reported stolen at 9 p.m. from 1317 Fairfield Beach Road. During what Lussier called a “pretty bold” break-in there, the suspect apparently entered through a rear sliding door that faced the beach while two roommates were at home, and took the Xbox, two controllers, two bottles of beer and a bottle of wine.

“[One of the roommates] located all the items, with the exception of the Xbox, on the beach a short distance from the bottom of the rear staircase,” Lussier said.
