Police: Fairfield Man Was Operating a Drug Factory

Twenty-year-old man was allegedly in possession of a large amount of marijuana and cash when he was caught in the act of selling to a juvenile.

Avery Salveson, 20, of Fairfield, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a drug factory on Sept. 28 at approximately 10:15 p.m.

According to police, officers observed Salveson in the act of selling marijuana to a juvenile in a commuter lot on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. When officers approached the car they smelt the strong odor of marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle they found two scales, a glass pipe, a large amount of cash and 1.73 ounces of marijuana.

The juvenile attempting to purchase the marijuana was issued a misdemeanor summons for possession of marijuana, according to police.

Salveson was released on a written promise to appear and is schedule to appear in court on Oct. 10.
