Police: Fairfield Woman Had Alcohol, Cocaine in System During Crash

21-year-old charged with DUI after rolling her car and hitting a fence on Hulls Farm Road.

Maggie White, 21, of Fairfield, was charged with driving under the influence Tuesday on an arrest warrant stemming from a motor vehicle accident last month.

According to police, White was driving a red Subaru Legacy on Hulls Farm Road on August 12 at approximately 9:15 p.m. when she drove off the road into a front lawn. White then came back on the roadway and rotated her vehicle 90 degrees, hitting a mailbox and rolling her car on its roof, careening into a fence.

White suffered several lacerations and was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital after the crash.

A brief investigation showed a white powdery substance on White’s license, and blood and urine tests completed at the hospital determined she had an elevated level of alcohol and the presence of cocaine in her body at the time of the accident, according to police.

A warrant was issued for her arrest and White turned herself in this week. She was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 8.
