Police: Girl Seen in Fairfield Duchess Most Likely Not Missing Orange Girl

Briefing Wednesday at Orange Church to Provide Update on Search for Girl Who Has Been Missing Since Sunday Morning

The girl in Duchess on the Post Road in Fairfield Monday night most likely was not a 12-year-old Orange girl missing since Sunday morning, according to Fairfield Police.

A Duchess employee had told a police officer who walked into the 625 Post Road restaurant about 9:24 p.m. Monday that a girl who looked like Isabella Oleschuk was in the restaurant earlier in the evening.

But investigators who reviewed videotape from the restaurant determined Tuesday that the girl most likely was not Isabella, said Fairfield Police Lt. James Perez.

"Everyone in the state should be calling police if they think they see this girl," Perez said. "It ties up a lot of resources in the short term, but you know what, we welcome it because without the community, a lot of this can't be done."

Meanwhile, the Orange Police Department will hold a press briefing at the Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meetinghouse Lane, at 11 a.m. Wednesday regarding the investigation into Isabella's disappearance.
