A Stillson Road resident reported Tuesday that her home was burglarized sometime between before 6 p.m. that day.
Police said the burglar gained entry through a sliding rear glass door that had been smashed with a 20 -pound dumbbell. The dumbbell was taken from the rear porch of the home, according to the report.
The complainant said the burglary must have happened close to the time of call because the house was still warm -- despite the rear door being smashed out -- when she arrived home.
As of Wednesday, the items reported missing were a silver necklace, gold earrings, and two bracelets that were inside a small jewelry box, police said.
This is under investigation.
