An alleged vulgar and physically combative shoplifter eluded store security and police Tuesday night in Fairfield.
According to police, officers are searching for a 23-year-old Bridgeport woman after she attempted to steal $389 of groceries from Super Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., on Oct. 15 at approximately 7:29 p.m.
The woman reportedly became physical and insulted security when they questioned her while leaving the store. She refused to show security a receipt and reportedly paid for less than $10 of the groceries in a self-checkout line, according to police.
The woman grabbed two six-packs of beer from her cart and fled in a 2005 Honda Accord. Police ran the registration and visited the home of the vehicle owner, but were unable to locate the woman.
