Woman allegedly attempted to steal hundreds in groceries, but made off with only two cases of beer.

An alleged vulgar and physically combative shoplifter eluded store security and police Tuesday night in Fairfield.

According to police, officers are searching for a 23-year-old Bridgeport woman after she attempted to steal $389 of groceries from Super Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., on Oct. 15 at approximately 7:29 p.m.

The woman reportedly became physical and insulted security when they questioned her while leaving the store. She refused to show security a receipt and reportedly paid for less than $10 of the groceries in a self-checkout line, according to police.
