Police Probe More Thefts from Cars in Fairfield, Southport

One break-in and several thefts were reported to police on Thursday and Friday.

Fairfield police are investigating a series of car break-ins and thefts reported Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, a patron of The Edge Fitness Club on Kings Highway Cutoff reported the driver's side window of her Jeep Loredo was smashed. The complainant's iPhone 4S and leather wallet valued at $200 was stolen, according to police. The damage to the window is estimated at $400.

One of the woman's credit cards was used at two businesses in Bridgeport. This is under investigation.

Three Woodrow Avenue residents reported their vehicles were entered overnight Thursday into Friday, police said.

One complainant said someone entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, and stole a GPS unit ($200), charger ($50), headphones ($200), and a Pandora plug ($100).

A second Woodrow Avenue resident reported a hat was stolen from his Toyota Sequoia. It was not disclosed in the report whether or not the vehicle was locked.

A third complainant reported that the family's unlocked Honda Accord was entered and the glove compartment and center console were rummaged through, police said. Nothing was reported stolen.
