Police Probe Star Fuels Armed Robbery

The department's K-9 unit -- Officer Kevin Wells and canine Ruger -- successfully followed the suspect's track.

Fairfield police are investigating an armed robbery at Star Fuels on Jennings Road, which occurred Monday.

According to the report, the suspect walked into the gas station, confronted the woman working in the store, and demanded cash. He had a large knife tucked into the waistband of his pants and threatened the woman with it.

The employee was not injured during the robbery and the suspect fled with cash. The woman described the robber as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall with an average build. He was wearing a hooded black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, and had a black scarf covering his mouth.

Police, with the help of Officer Wells and K-9 Ruger, tracked down the suspect from the gas station to a nearby home, according to the report. Officers secured the home and detectives were called in to execute a search warrant on the residence.

Investigators are trying to recover evidence of the crime and identify the suspect, according to the report.
