Police Raise $50K to Make Kids' Wishes Come True

Event Last Weekend Raised $50,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation's Connecticut Chapter

Fairfield Police last weekend hosted a police parade and walk-a-thon to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to raise money for the foundation's Connecticut chapter.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses, and, this past year, granted 13,465 wishes nationwide.

Saturday's police parade and 3-mile stroll, which included officers from 60 law enforcement agencies around Connecticut, raised $50,000 for the foundation, exceeding by $5,000 the fundraising goal.
