Police Seek Sacred Heart, Fairfield U Laptop Thief

The suspect, who police believe stole two laptops this week, is featured in the video.

Fairfield police are investigating reports of laptops stolen from both Sacred Heart and Fairfield universities and believe both thefts are the work of the same suspect.

The first theft was reported on Tuesday at Fairfield University. A student left an Apple MacBook laptop on a table in the library and when he returned, it was gone.  Surveillance footage showed a thin male in a dark hoodie with dark shorts carrying a backpack approach the table, put the laptop in his backpack, and walk away.

A second laptop was stolen on Wednesday, this time from the library at Sacred Heart University. A student left an Apple MacBook at a table in the library and, before returning to the table, noticed a tall male sit down near the laptop, according to the report. When the complainant returned, the male (described as Asian) and the laptop were gone.
