Police: Teen Stole Vehicle at Fairfield Metro Station

Bridgeport man and two juveniles allegedly used burglars tools to steal a vehicle and then fled on foot.

Carl James, 18, of Bridgeport, was charged with two counts of third-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trover and possession of burglar’s tools on September 14 at approximately 9:38 p.m.

According to police, James and two juveniles from Bridgeport cut a chain attached to a 2012 Velocity motor scooter at the Fairfield Metro Station, 61 Constant Comment Way, with large bolt cutters. 

While attempting to start the scooter the ignition was damaged. The scooter was carried and hidden behind a nearby box truck and the three individuals fled on foot. They were all picked up by officers near the Metro Station, according to police.

James was in possession of wire cutters and vice grip pliers at the time of the arrest. Bolt cutters and a pry bar were found in the area of the scooter, according to police.

James was released on a written promise to appear and is schedule to appear in court on September 24.
