Couple Arrested After Verbal Argument

A couple was arrested late Friday after a verbal argument they were reportedly having at a party turned physical, police said.

Jaclyn Antzoulis, 29, of Garden Drive in Fairfield and John Deacutis, 28, of Capital Ave in Bridgeport were both charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault after a witness called police to the scene.

According to the police report, Antzoulis and Deacutis were at a party at Szost Drive when they started to argue. They reportedly pushed, hit, and grabbed each other before Antzoulis left in a Dodge Neon and Deacutis, shirtless, started to walk away from the scene. Police caught up with both and detained them.

Police noted scratches on Deacutis’ chest and bruises on Antzoulis’ arm. Both were released after posting $5,000 bonds and were scheduled to have appeared in court on Monday.

A woman and a teen from Bridgeport were arrested Friday after they allegedly attempted to shoplift merchandise from Bob’s on the Post Road, police said.

Crystal Renee Sanchez, 22, and a 17-year-old were reportedly caught on surveillance video putting shoes and jeans into bags and then allegedly attempted to leave without paying for the items, according to the report.

Sanchez allegedly took a pair of kid’s Nikes and a pair of Converse -- the shoes totaled $87. The teen attempted to swipe a pair of black jeans and two pairs of Converse shoes for a total of $150.

Police detained the woman and teen and charged them each with sixth-degree larceny. Bob’s employees believe a man was involved in the attempted theft but had left before police; police are trying to determine who the third suspect is.

The juvenile was turned over to her mother and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10. Sanchez was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 15.

Police arrested a man Sunday who allegedly attempted to steal $310 worth of gum and the baby formula Enfamel from the on Kings Highway Cut Off.

Shawn Costello, 30, who told police he is homeless, was detained as he ran through the grocery store parking lot toward Public Storage, police said. Stop & Shop employees told police they saw Costello conceal the goods in plastic bags; he then allegedly walked out without paying.

Costello told police he had swallowed five bags of crack when they apprehended him. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where doctors confirmed Costello did not actually swallow any bags of cracks, police said.

Costello was held on a $500 bond. His court date was not included in the police report.
