The men were wearing florescent yellow jackets and had driven a bright orange pickup truck. Police had been told to look out for the suspects, as men wearing yellow vests and operating an orange truck had been suspected of similar crimes in Stratford. They also matched the description that a Euclid Avenue resident gave to police after the radiators had been discovered stolen.

Jarrett admitted to the radiator thefts in Fairfield, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said. He told police that he looked for homes with overgrown lawns and without blinds to know they were vacant. He also admitted to selling the stolen radiators, police said.

The eight radiators stolen from the Stratfield Road home totaled $4,000 in value and $2,000 in damage was done to the floors as the radiators were dragged out of the home.

Nine radiators taken from the Euclid Avenue home totaled $7,200 in value. Damage to the floors was reported, but no estimate was given.

Jarrett was scheduled to have appeared in court on Tuesday.
