A former Fairfield University basketball player was shot and killed in Philadelphia on Sunday, the Fairfield Minuteman reports.
Rich Flemming, 24, was shot multiple times just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to the report. He was pronounced dead that night at Temple University Medical Center.
A 22-year-old suspect was charged with murder in connection to the death, according to the Minuteman.
Flemming played in 25 games at Fairfield University as a forward in 2006-2007 before transferring to the University of Maryland at Baltimore County.
This comes just over a year after former Sacred Heart University basketball player Chauncey Hardy died in Romania in 2011 after he sustained injuries in a bar attack.
