Report: Man Caused $800 in Damage to Gas Station Bathroom

A Shelton man was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday after he allegedly caused $800 worth of damage to the bathroom in Cumberland Farms on the Post Road, police said.
Avdi Rugova, 19, was reportedly intoxicated when he jumped out of his friend's (slowly moving) car on I-95 and then journeyed to Cumberland Farms, according to police.

He allegedly ripped out tiles in the bathroom and caused enough havoc to rack up $800 worth of damage, police said.
Rugova also reportedly resisted arrest, but was detained and transported to Fairfield Police headquarters, where he was charged with breach of peace, second-degree criminal mischief, and interfering with a police officer.

Rugova was held in lieu of a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 15.
