Minor Injuries After Toyota 4Runner Flipped Onto Its Roof Late Saturday

State Police today identified the driver of the SUV that flipped onto its roof on Interstate 95 by exit 22 late Saturday as Luis Collaguazo, 56, of Pembroke Street in Bridgeport, and said he sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Collaguazo had to be extricated from his 1995 Toyota 4Runner by Fairfield firefighters and was taken by AMR Ambulance Co. to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport after the 11:26 p.m. accident, according to firefighters and state police.

State police said Collaguazo was driving south on I-95 in the left lane when he lost control of his SUV and it flipped onto its roof. He was given an infraction by state police for failing to maintain a proper lane, operation without a license, failure to renew registration and not carrying proof of insurance.

Collaguazo was the only person in the SUV, according to firefighters.

Firefighters stabilized the the SUV and extricated Collaguazo, who was trapped inside. The right- and middle lanes of I-95 southbound were closed for about an hour due to the accident, according to the Fire Department's report.
