Police say they’re investigating a complaint lodged Wednesday afternoon by a Colonial Drive woman that her MasterCard had been charged with fraudulent transactions from Egypt the prior day.

The complainant reportedly told police that she believes someone may have obtained her credit card’s information when she was in Florida last week.

It isn’t clear what was charged or for how much money, though a police run sheet made reference to “appliances.”

Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Wednesday afternoon reported that some time in the past week $600 worth of used cooking oil was siphoned from a back storage area of the restaurant, police said.

According to Lussier, the restaurant—located at the "King's Crossing" shopping area by Grasmere Avenue and Kings Highway East—says a hole was cut into a metal grate in a used oil container and pumped out.

Police are investigating.

In the same shopping area, Whole Foods on Wednesday afternoon reported that “a white powdery” substance was found on the floor of the grocery store. According to Lussier, four small bags of the substance also were located within the store and tested positive for cocaine.

The items were seized by police, who are investigating, she said.

Police say a Fairfield Beach Road resident reported late Wednesday that some time between the prior morning and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, someone had broken into a garage at the home and cut holes in the ceiling.

According to Lussier, the complainants were sleeping when they heard what sounded like saws late at night and into the morning, but thought the noise was coming from an adjacent house and went back to sleep.

The homeowners then checked the garage and found three holes cut into the ceiling, Lussier said.

Police are investigating.
