Trio Nabbed for Alleged Attempted Shoplifting

According to the police report, the three women arrested were 'not even discreet about it.'

Three Bridgeport women were charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny in on Kings Highway Cut Off on Monday, police said.

The trio, including one woman in a wheelchair, were allegedly eating and drinking some of the groceries they attempted to shoplift and were “not even discreet about it,” according to the police report.

The women reportedly paid for some items but attempted to conceal and leave with $135 worth of unpaid groceries, police said. They were apprehended before leaving the store.

Wanda Cruz, 55, Melva Rivera, 57, and Crucita Velazquez, 61, were released on promises to appear in court on March 16.
