Two Men Rob Fairfield Business, Burn Getaway Car

After failing to open the cash register, men make off with packs of cigarettes.

Two men allegedly broke into and robbed a Fairfield gas station this past weekend, failing to open the cash register and making off with only a few packs of cigarettes, before torching their stolen getaway car in a nearby town.

According to police, Citgo Gas Station, 2515 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, was robbed at 1:55 a.m. on Oct. 5. The intruders pried the front door to the business open, but an alarm was activated and the men only manage to knock over a few shelves and make off with packs of cigarettes.

The two men were described as white males with dark clothes and ski masks. Following the robbery the men left the scene in a grey Audi, reported stolen from Monroe earlier that night. The Audi was later found completely engulfed in flames on Woodhaven Drive in Trumbull.
