Video of Shell Gas Station Burglary Suspect Released

Police are looking for help identifying the man in the video.

Fairfield police are investigating a commercial burglary at the Shell gas station at 2424 Black Rock Turnpike and have released surveillance video in an effort to find the suspect.

The burglary occurred around 5 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5. The suspect allegedly used a large rock to smash the lower portion of the front glass door to gain entry, according to police.

The man -- described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male, bald, wearing jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, and blue and white Nike sneakers -- went behind the front counter and took approximately 30 cartons of cigarettes and $100 in change from a safe, according to the report.

He was operating a dark-colored SUV, possibly a mid-90s Chevy Blazer or GMC type of vehicle, police said.
