Westport Subway Robbed at Gunpoint

Police say the suspect is still at large.

The Subway at 903 Post Road East in Westport was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning.

Westport Police said employees indicated that an individual entered the store at approximately 10:10 a.m. and displayed a silver colored handgun. "The employees retreated to the rear of the store at the sight of the armed individual and he then went behind the counter and removed the cash box from the register," police said.

The suspect reportedly fled on foot, toward the intersection of Cedar Road, carrying the cash box in his hands.

"The area was searched immediately after the robbery by Westport Police with the assistance of the Norwalk Police K-9 unit and at this point the suspect is still at large," police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6-feet tall, of muscular build. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie, dark grey or black pants, a black ski-type mask with only his eyes exposed, and black gloves.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should call the Westport Police Department, Detective Bureau, at 203-341-6080.

Cut the crap TBL of CT. No one mentioned race in any comment until you just brought it up. Well, no one but me in my original comment, but that was tongue in cheek and I was poking fun at Westport's "diversity".

Actually if you don't know what TBL is, then you are truly smoking the herb I guess. At any rate, I was not even replying to you Joe, but since you bothered to reply, I do understand your point. And long story short, just want this punk locked up: in the can x 2.

Kevin-No weed here. TBL posted a race related comment then wisely deleted. TBL-agreed these punks should be locked up. Subway has become a big target lately. Perhaps local police can establish a little more presence or maybe Subway has to increase security.
