A Bridgeport woman is accused of driving drunk with her child in tow, according to Fairfield Police.

Monica Negron, 40, of Dewey Street, was reportedly involved in a motor vehicle accident on Villa Avenue in Fairfield in early June. Police said Negron's vehicle drove over the double yellow line and into oncoming traffic, striking the front of another vehicle. Negron's two-year-old son was in the car; both mother and child were transported to the hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

Responding officers noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior of Negron's vehicle. They also seized a container with liquid that smelled like wine, according to the police report.

Investigators later executed a search and seizure warrant for Negron's medical records, which reportedly indicated she was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
