Fairfield police made an arrest last week for a robbery that occurred in 2008.

Bianca Lamkin, 33, of Rosemont Pa., was charged with conspiracy to commit the following crimes: first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny, and second-degree assault in connection to the theft of a diamond ring from Fairfield Center Jewelers on Sept. 8, 2008, police said.

According to the initial report, two suspects walked into Fairfield Center Jewlers that day and asked to see a diamond ring worth $22,000. As the storeowner walked to the other side of the store to get a light, one of the suspects allegedly pepper sprayed the clerk in the face and grabbed the ring. Both suspects fled in a vehicle.

A witness was able to give police the license plate number of the suspects' vehicle and detectives determined who the registered owner was. Investigators also obtained fingerprints from the scene of the crime, according to the report.

The fingerprints lead police to Lamkin, who police said had a history of previous arrests in Pennsylvania. Detectives interviewed her in Pennsylvania, where Lamkin reportedly admitted to going to several jewelry stores in Connecticut, according to the report.

Police applied for a warrant for Lamkin's arrest. It was served Thursday after Lamkin was finished serving time for charges in Pennsylvania.

She was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 7.
