Youth Charged with 'Illegal Use of Laser Pointer'

An unidentified Brookfield youth was charged with assault and illegal use of a laser pointer this week stemming from a Feb. 27 incident at Brookfield High School.

A Stratford man is accused of stealing his grandmother's LCD television, DVDs from Stop & Shop in Trumbull and baby formula from the Westfield Trumbull Mall Target.

There wasn't much luck of the Irish for a pair of patrons at a Greenwich watering hole on St. Patrick's Day night. The fisticuffs between the men ended with their arrests by Greenwich Police.

Woodbury police are investigating a report of two youths allegedly beaten with bats. According to Woodbury police, two juveniles were assaulted with fists and baseball bats by unknown parties on Mackey Farm Road in Woodbury on March 17.

A teenage driver from Norwalk was busted on drug charges in New Canaan after allegedly speeding past a police officer running radar near a middle school. Police alleged the teen copped to having a bag of marijuana under the driver's seat, and police report they found a joint in the console ashtray.

Naugatuck police arrested a man who they claim at a junkyard and then pocketed the loot.

Naugatuck police "tased" a drunken man three times after he fought while being handcuffed, police said.

A Fairfield resident discovered an artillery shell in her attic this week, prompting a call to a State Police bomb squad technician. Investigators determined that the 37mm shell -- left behind by a family member -- dated back to WWII or the Vietnam War.

A Stratford man has been sentenced to five months in prison for almost strangling his former girlfriend to death in the parking lot of a raceway in Waterford. "I was sure, if I didn't escape, I would have been dead," said the victim, according to the court.

Two men, ages 20 and 50, were arrested by Milford Police following an alleged altercation at an elementary school playground.
