After of having 100 percent restoration by Sunday night, Connecticut Light & Power President/COO Jeffrey Butler said Monday morning that the company's new goal is to restore 99 percent of its customers by Monday night and 100 percent by Wednesday, according to the Connecticut Post.
The remaining outages in the state — caused by a rare October snowstorm — are mostly in the northern and central regions, including Simsbury and Avon, as well as Tolland County. Between 99 and 100 percent of customers in southern Fairfield County have had their power restored.
Gov. Malloy announced Monday that FEMA representatives and state officials are currently in the process of assessing damage across the state in order to apply for additional funding. He added that an independent audit of CL&P and United Illuminating's response to the outages would be completed by Dec. 1.
