Fairfield Democratic Annual Century Club Brunch

Fairfield Democrats will hold their annual Century Club Brunch on Sunday, April 1, 2012,
noon to 3:00PM at the Patterson Club, 1118 Cross Hwy, Fairfield. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and Governor Daniel Malloy are among the many Democratic elected officials who will be in attendance.

The event celebrates exemplary Fairfield Democrats. This year, Jay Wolk will be awarded the Denise Dougiello “Young Turk” Award. The award is given annually to
a newer member of the Democratic Party who has contributed in an exceptional way to moving it to the future.

Jay is a newly elected member of the RTM, representing District 6.  He is president of the Dogwood Green Association and is the Fairfield PTA's Liaison to the First Selectman's office, and is responsible for communicating the First Selectman's strategic agenda to the
leadership team and the 19 PTA units. Jay also serves of the Fairfield Public School's Climate Team on Bullying.  Many a Democratic candidate has benefitted from Jay's hard work: he is a tireless worker, who is always ready to help in any way.

  The Eunice Postol Community Service Award
will be awarded to Shelley Cryan. The award is given annually to a Democrat who over the past years has exemplified undying dedication to community service.  Shelley has an extraordinary record of community service, not only to Fairfield, but to others in need around the
world.  Many Fairfielders know  Shelley from her work with various PTA projects, her time spent coaching girls' softball for Fairfield Parks and Recreation, or her years as coach for the Odyssey of the Mind program.  Shelley also led a group of Fairfield middle school students in a trip to Africa to help repair a school  and is currently Vice President of Humanity
Now, a non-profit organization founded by Fairfield teachers that participates in marketing initiatives to connect children around the world for learning,
cultural exchange, fundraising for humanitarian efforts.

 Prominent Democratic officials and candidates
are also expected to attend to help congratulate the honorees.

    Individual tickets are $100.00. Underwriter contributions of $250 or more receive two tickets and acknowledgement in the event program.
