HouseHold Hazardous Waste Collection

This event is sponsored by the Town of Fairfield Solid Waste & Recycling Department.

Acceptable items include aerosols, bug sprays, floor care products, metal polish, furniture polish, oven cleaners, drain cleaners, bathroom cleaners, tile cleaners, disinfectants, toilet bowl cleaners, nail polish remover, antifreeze, gasoline, auto batteries, brake fluid, auto body repair products, transmission fluid, oil-based paint, paint thinner and stripper, varnish, chemical fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, rat poison, artists' paints, dry cleaning solvents, moth balls, batteries and photographic and swimming pool chemicals.

Unacceptable materials are 55-gallon drums of otherwise acceptable liquids like waste oil, and anti-freeze, latex paint, empty containers, including aerosol cans, explosives, including road and boat flares, ammunition, fire extinguishers, asbestos roofing, shingling, flooring, wallboard and pipe wrap, radioactive materials, pathological waste, including syringes, PCB's, waste generated by commercial, industrial, institutional or municipal sources, controlled substances, narcotics and prescription medicines and tires.
