The Fairfield Republican Town Committee will honor three Republicans at the annual RTC Lobster Bake and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 23. The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion on Fairfield Beach Road.

Former Board of Selectman member and current Board of Finance member James F. Walsh will be presented with the Myrtle Miller Party Loyalty Award for dedicated service to Republican causes and campaigns; Board of Selectman member and former Board of Finance chairman and member Kevin P. Kiley will be honored with the Gerry Malafronte Community Service Award; and RTM Majority Leader David M. Becker will be presented the Paul Tymniak Young Republican Award.

RTC Chairman Jamie Millington said this year’s award recipients were selected based on their collective commitment and dedication to both Fairfield and core Republican values and causes.

“The decision to honor Jim, Kevin and David recognizes their dedication to Republican principles as well as early and passionate dedication to Republican ideals. All three and are caring and devoted individuals who have helped make our community a better place to live through the advocacy of our principles,” Millington said. “The Republican Party is extremely grateful for their years of dedicated service and our town is a better place for their involvement in not only our Party, but also charitable causes that have helped make our community a better place to live.”

Several candidates for state and federal offices will be in attendance at this traditional kick-off to the election season.

The RTC Lobster Bake and Awards Ceremony is $75 per person and seating is limited. All are welcome. For more information or to make reservations, call RTC Chairman Jamie Millington at (203) 258-1049.
