Fairfield Eye on the Beltway: Blumenthal, DeLauro Support Equal Pay

And, Himes is scheduled to discuss entrepreneurship at Stamford Innovation Center.

BLUMENTHAL: The senator showed his continued support of the Paycheck Fairness Act, which seeks to address the income differences between men and women, via Twitter:

"35% of working mothers are their family’s primary wage earner. Yet, on avg CT women make $14k less than men #EqualPay Thx! @AAUW @NPWF @NWLC"

"Women deserve #Equalpay. Would you like 213 tanks of gas? Or 109 weeks of groceries? Pass the PaycheckFairnessAct!"

LIEBERMAN: The senator released a statement in response to an Al Qaeda video calling upon the “covert Mujahidin” to commit “electronic jihad.”

“This is the clearest evidence we’ve seen that Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups want to attack the cyber systems of our critical infrastructure,” he said. “Congress needs to act now to protect the American public from a possible devastating attack on our electric grid, water delivery systems, or financial networks, for example."

HIMES: The congressman will join StartUp Connecticut and local business owners for a roundtable discussion on entrepreneurship at the Stamford Innovation Center on Thursday, May 24. Himes will provide an overview of the recently enacted Jumpstart Our Business Start-Ups (JOBS) Act and experts from the investment community will discuss various avenues to secure capital investment for growing companies. Participants will span a wide range of industries, including technology, manufacturing and communications.

DELAURO: The congresswoman also used Twitter to show support for the Paycheck Fairness Act:

"Don't think #equalpay is a problem? Ask your mother, wife, daughter, or sister. Senate needs to pass Paycheck Fairness Act."
