Fairfield Receives Energy Savings Grant

Fairfield has received a $15,000 Bright Idea Grant for its participation in the statewide Clean Energy Communities (CEC) program, an Energize Connecticut initiative that incentivizes cities and towns to support energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Fairfield is one of 35 Connecticut municipalities that was recognized for its first Bright Idea Grant through the CEC program.  Fairfield earned its $15,000 grant based on the level of community participation in Energy Efficiency Fund programs.

Fairfield plans to use the grant funding to build an energy management system for Independence Hall to control heating, air conditioning and lighting, which will save the town on energy and billing costs.
