Fairfield Receives Funding for Storm Sandy Relief

$20,000 donated by United Way of Coastal Fairfield County.

Fairfield received $20,000 from the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, Inc. for the town’s Storm Sandy Relief Fund last week.

“Fairfield was one of the hardest hit communities in our area and we are happy to be able to provide this funding to help those still with unmet needs,” stated Merle Berke-Schlessel, President and CEO, United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. “After insurance and FEMA funding, there are still many costs not covered that are keeping people from getting back into their homes.”

First Selectman Mike Tetreau reminds Fairfield residents that the Storm Sandy Relief Fund, which was set up last November by the town to assist residents impacted by the Storm, is still accepting applications for financial assistance.
