Fairfield School Board Trims Budget to $148.9M

The school board reportedly approved a series of line item reductions recommended by Superintendent of Schools David Title totaling about $250,000.

According to a report in the Fairfield Citizen the school board approved a series of line item reductions totaling $250,000 as recommended by Superintendent of Schools David Title. Two weeks ago, before , the approved a motion to reduce the school budget by $250,000. Tuesday's round of cuts was to bring the budget in-line with the figure approved by the RTM, as well as the .

In addition the RTM approved a request by the Board of Finance to reduce the pension budget by $278,000, bringing the total cuts to more than $500K.
