Town Clerk Betsy P. Browne is elected vice president of the Connecticut Town Clerks Association

Town Clerk Betsy P. Browne recently was elected Fairfield County vice president of the Connecticut Town Clerks Association.

Browne was elected by her fellow town and city clerks from Fairfield County and the oath of office was administered to the CTCA executive board by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill at the spring educational conference at the Hartford Marriott in April.

Browne will represent the 23 town and city clerks of Fairfield County on the executive board in a two-year term. She has been an active member of the CTCA since 2001 and has served on the genealogy committee and now is serving on the technology and vitals committees and is the liaison to the Connecticut justices of the peace.

“I am very honored by the confidence my fellow town clerks have in my abilities. I look forward to representing my peers on the executive board. It’s an exciting challenge to assist the new leadership in the CTCA’s mission to promote excellence and professionalism through support, communication and educational opportunities for each member,” said Browne.

Browne also is serving a three-year term as a director representing Connecticut on the New England Association of City and Town Clerks executive board.
