Fairfield Woods Branch Library Re-opens

Following a weeklong closure for mold remediation work, the Fairfield Woods Branch Library will re-open to the public today.

The library was closed from Monday, Nov. 18 - Friday, Nov. 22 to address the mold work, which was successfully performed in the basement area of the building, according to First Selectman Mike Tetreau.

Access to the basement area will remain limited until the construction work to replace the removed materials has been completed.  New air sample results, which were collected in the first floor areas that are being reoccupied after the mold remediation work was completed, find that the air is at acceptable levels and indicate that these areas continue to remain in the “Clean Building” category, according to Tetreau.

“I am very pleased the latest air test came back within the “Clean Building” range and we are able to have our library back in service,” he said.
