“Balancing economic and environmental priorities is one of the great challenges of the 21st century," Flynn said after thanking McKinney for his appointment. "I’m pleased to join Connecticut’s efforts to help meet that challenge by expanding access to clean, renewable energy solutions in a way that will also help strengthen Connecticut’s economy.”

The Connecticut General Assembly created CEFIA to help pursue new financing and investment opportunities to the use of low-cost capital for clean energy and energy efficiency projects, according to the release.

The authority's mission is to "promote, develop, and invest in clean energy and energy efficiency projects in order to strengthen Connecticut's economy, protect community health, improve the environment, and promote a secure energy supply for the state," according to the release.
